LE TISSIER LEGENDARY IN OCTOBER

Matthew Le Tissier has helped make October a fantastic month for Southampton and has joined his manager Graeme Souness in recieving the Carling Awards.

Le Tissier celebrated 10 years with the Saints by scoring three of their 10 goals during the month and helped the club to two vital victories, most notably the 6-3 hammering of Manchester United at The Dell.

It is the second time Le Tissier has been named Player of the Month his first came in December 1994.

England coach Glenn Hoddle paid tribute to Le Tissier, saying: ``Matthew has proved during October that he is one of the most talented players in the Carling Premiership and should be acknowledged for his loyalty to the club.''

Le Tissier will receive a trophy, a magnum of Carling champagne and a cheque for £250.
